This is a list of mutations, chromosomes, or stocks available from Adelaide Carpenter. In some cases the same mutation is available in different backgrounds. These files contain all Drosophila stocks currently maintained in the Nusslein-Volhard lab, and replace the previously published list: Tearle, R., and Nusslein-Volhard, C. (1987). Tuebingen mutants and stock list. D. I. S. 66: 198-269. The stocks are grouped as follows:
A series: marker stocks and balancers etc.
B series: embryonic lethals
D series: rearrangements
E series: lethals in cact region (S. Roth)
F series: maternal effect mutants which give no eggs
G series: maternal effect mutants whose embryos are developmentally abnormal
H series: maternal effect mutants whose eggs have altered chorion morphology
(F, G, H: female steriles on 3rd from major 3rd chromosome screen of G. Juergens and C. Nusslein-Volhard)
K series: stocks which have to be nursed to ensure survival
M series: general maternal effect mutants from several screens and labs
T series: transgenic stocks
Z series: embryonic lethals from screen of C. Nusslein-Volhard, E. Wieschaus and G. Juergens
(Z2: zygotic on 2nd; Z3: zygotic on 3rd)
Please note that we have enclosed P element designations with "P{...}" in agreement with the FlyBase format.
Although we are happy to fulfill stock requests of a specific nature, several of the stocks are kept in the stock centers at Umea, Mid- America (Bowling Green) and Bloomington, and these should be the source for initial requests.

These files are posted as provided (reuter1 is in German). Some odd characters are present as a result of the translation to text. The files have not been edited to standardize genotypic representation. Allele designations are sometimes preceded by a tilde, sometimes by a << symbol, and, most often, are simply added to the gene name, e.g., wm4 for w[m4].
